Plant a Rain Garden at the Longhouse
- Date
- 3 June, 2018, 11 AM-2 PM
The Anacortes High School Green Club and the Samish Department of Natural Resources invites you to a work party to plant a rain garden in front of the Longhouse on Sunday June 3, 1from 1:00 - 2:00.
What is a rain garden?
A rain garden is a landscaped area that filters water naturally, through plants and soil. It is a natural, beautiful way to address the problem of non-point-source stormwater pollution—the #1 pollution problem in the Salish Sea! You can read more about rain gardens here: http://extension.wsu.edu/raingarden. Be sure to check out the rain garden poster!
Please dress comfortably for the weather. Rain boots, rain coat, sunscreen, sun hat—it’s the Northwest, you just never know.
Please bring a finger food to share, if you’d like. For allergy reasons, absolutely no nuts!
RSVP to Sarah at by May 31.
