Purpose: To assist families that are unable to keep up with rent and helps them find an affordable place to live and stability.
As of 8/1/2024: The Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program (TBRA) has a limited capacity. Because of this, we will no longer be accepting applications for this program. Please check back periodically to see if there are any updates.
Eligibility:
This program is open to anyone enrolled in a federally recognized tribe with priority given to enrolled Samish citizens.
You must reside in our 10-county service area which includes: Clallam, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties.
To be eligible for the TBRA Program, the household must have verifiable income and maintain sufficient income to meet their future housing needs. This means there needs to be some type of regular, steady income (working income, social security payment, etc.). Through the program you will work with your case manager to create a budget that sets you up for financial independence once the TBRA program ends.
Through this program you will learn to budget finances, identify what is in your ‘price range’, independent living skills, and how to set and reach your goals.
