Candidate Filing Guidelines

The Tribe’s Election Code requires each candidate to submit a petition identifying which position they seek, with signatures from ten eligible Samish voters. 

The Tribe’s Election Code requires each candidate to submit a petition identifying which position they seek, with signatures from 10 eligible Samish voters. To be considered a complete petition, candidates must mail printed petition documents sufficient to show ten signatures from voters who are 18 or over on June 30, 2024 to the Election Superintendent. Candidates may obtain signatures by mail or email. Mailing address details are on the petition form, the deadline for petitions to be received is May 7, 2024.
