About: Samish Xwch'angteng is a tenant-based monthly rental assistance program designed to help low-income Samish elders and persons that are permanently and totally disabled pay rent for privately owned decent, safe, and sanitary housing.

  • 14 Two-Bedroom Cottages
    • Approximately 1000 Sqft. of living space and each cottage will have a 300 Sqft. carport in front.
    • Second bedroom allows for the opportunity for a caregiver to live onsite or for family members to visit.
  • The Community Center
    • With a second-floor apartment for the on-site resident manager.
  • Playground
    • Will be used by residents and family members.

Purpose and Eligibility: The Samish Xwch'angteng Housing program serves the affordable housing needs of low-income Samish Tribal Citizens that are 62 years of age or older and/or Samish Tribal Citizens that are permanently and totally disabled.

Eligibility is further determined by verification of enrollment, income, references from landlords and credit providers, criminal and credit background checks, and household composition.
